Color OS 12 release date leaked, suggesting Android 12 date

  • Oppo’s Chinese digital assistant Breeno revealed the release date of Color OS 12.
  • The date is September 13, 2021. Breeno has since been updated to not provide this date.
  • Android 12 itself is likely to be launched before that date.

With the release of Android 12 beta 4.1 this week, we are very, very close to the stable version of the new operating system. At this point, we only need a few weeks to see it.

At the end of that version, we should see companies launching new Android skins based on Android 12. Weibo users (pass through GSM Arena) Ask Oppo’s Chinese digital assistant Breeno when it will launch Color OS 12. Unexpectedly, Breno gave a very specific answer.

After translation, the answer seems to be at 3 pm on September 13, 2021, China time. This is equivalent to 3 a.m. Eastern Time on September 12, 2021.

Since the news began to spread, Oppo updated Breeno and stopped answering this question. Now, it says “coming soon.”

If Color OS 12 is indeed released on September 13, it will mean that Android 12 itself has been released. Google is unlikely to release Android 12 at 3:00 AM on Sunday in New York, so Android 12 is more likely to be released the previous week.

Of course, all of this may be a big mistake, and Color OS 12 will not launch that day. However, considering that Android 12 is almost ready for prime time, this is not entirely impossible.
