Do you use one-handed mode on your smartphone?

Posted on September 1, 2021 by William

Over the years, the size of smartphone screens has grown substantially, from approximately 4 inches in 2010 to nearly 7 inches in 2021. The upside is that we have more screen areas for games and movies, but the downside is that many people feel that they become too large to be used comfortably.

The large screen means that reaching the upper half of the display is a difficult task. But a prominent solution over the years is the one-handed mode function, which uses software to “shrink” the screen to place objects within touch distance. Is this something you use on your phone? Give us your answer by voting below.

One-handed mode can be used for various Android OEM mobile phones. Prominent examples include Samsung, Huawei and Xiaomi. However, this feature is not available on Google and OnePlus phones.

Nevertheless, Google seems to finally bring a one-handed mode to Android 12, so even manufacturers without this feature should be able to catch up quickly. Do you have it on your phone? Then tell us whether you are using it or not by voting above.
