Roborock S7 is the latest product from a company supported by Xiaomi, and it is an excellent robot vacuum cleaner-but can it get better by adding an optional auto-emptying base? Auto-Empty Dock is the first-party accessory of Roborock S7 vacuum cleaner, which can reduce the time to empty the trash. The dock is 22.3 x 15.8 x 9.5 inches and weighs nearly 20 pounds. A small ramp allows the vacuum cleaner to be mounted on the base to charge and empty the trash bin on the device.

When Roborock S7 returns to the docking station, the vacuum cleaner will determine whether it needs to empty the trash bin on the device according to the cleaning mode. If the Roborock S7 is set to automatically empty, the dust will be sucked into the 3L bag of the base and sent out through the HEPA filter to prevent the dust from escaping into your home. Roborock claims that the average user only needs to empty the trash can every eight weeks.

The auto-empty base is available in white and black models, but these two models are currently sold out on Amazon, Wal-Mart and Roborock websites.

Roborock S7 and Auto-Empty Dock are a very important combination. It seems difficult to set up, but this is far from the truth. When I opened the Auto-Empty Dock box, all I had to do was screw the ramp into the double cylinder with the included screwdriver, replace the trash can on the device, and then put Roborock S7 on the charging electrode. Apart from these simple steps, there is basically no overhead.

This thing is very clever. If the Roborock S7 is set to empty automatically, you don’t even have to think about the trash can. The vacuum cleaner estimates when it needs to be emptied based on your space size and cleaning habits. You can set some manual options to determine how often the S7 is automatically cleared, but I found that the “smart” option has worked well so far.

The most important thing is that you can set a quiet time for “Do Not Disturb”. At this time, the S7 can still vacuum but will not empty into the docking station to avoid making a lot of noise. If you want to vacuum other rooms in the house while you sleep, but don’t want to be woken up by the noisy emptying process, then this is the perfect choice.

The biggest disadvantage of Auto-Empty Dock is its price. It has no icing-non-essential accessories for $300 are very expensive. It is actually about $100 higher than the fees charged by some competitors (such as iRobot) for similar products.

Most importantly, it is worth considering what the $300 can actually save you. I obviously no longer need to empty my trash can, which is great, but I still find myself checking my S7 to refill its water tank and clean its brushes. It’s not a big deal to include emptying the trash can in my routine maintenance procedures, so I have to wonder whether the $300 investment is worthwhile, especially considering that there are Cheaper option on the market.

When actually using Auto-Empty Dock, I hardly encountered any problems; however, I noticed that S7 sometimes left a small pile of dirt on the bottom of the dock. Roborock S7 drove up the small ramp of the dock, and when it left the ground, it tried to suck the remaining dust into the trash can. I did not encounter this problem every time the S7 completes the cleaning cycle, but after performing some more demanding cleaning (for example, the area under my sofa that is often overlooked), I noticed a small amount of dirt deposits.

Roborock Auto-Empty Dock fully meets your expectations. It simplifies most of the regular maintenance work and reduces the time to clean the stone S7.

The real disadvantage of this product is its price tag of up to $299.99. There are independent robot vacuum cleaners of the same quality on the market, such as iRobot Roomba 694 (USD 274.99). So, is this accessory really worth it?

Although the convenience and quality of Roborock Auto-Empty Dock is great, it is difficult to recommend it due to its high price. If you are convinced that it will benefit your cleaning process, then be sure to continue-the dock is great! However, if you are on the fence, I suggest postponing this. A good deal or price reduction may make it a wise move, but for now, Auto-Empty Dock is an expensive accessory that will only add marginal value to an already smooth user experience.

Top Questions and Answers of the Stone Automatic Emptying Dock

Q: Can the Roborock S7 empty the trash can be manually selected?

Answer: Yes! The smart empty option is great, but if you want to manually empty the trash can on your device, it’s also possible. You can do this through the app, or you can remove the trash can from the device as usual.

Q: Is Auto-Empty Dock compatible with any stone models other than S7?

A: Unfortunately, Auto-Empty Dock is only compatible with Roborock S7. If you don’t have S7 but still want to take advantage of the automatic emptying function, you need to invest at least $950 in the vacuum itself and the base.

Q: Can the 3L bag that comes with Auto-Empty Dock be reused?

A: Roborock didn’t say anything on their official website, even though it was mentioned on the Amazon page that these bags cannot be reused. Roborock does not currently sell bags separately, so if the two bags that come with the terminal are full, there is currently no solution.
