- Google seems to be considering merging Google One and Play Pass into one bundle.
- This is based on information obtained from the teardown of the Google One app.
- It is not clear if or when Google will launch the bundle.
Google seems to be considering merging its Google One subscription and Play Pass into a new discounted bundled product.
According to the application dismantling Nine pairs of five Google, Google One may soon allow users to add Play Pass to their Google One plan and get a percentage discount on the total price. It is not clear how much users can save, but users can try out the bundle before submitting.
The bundle will start with the basic One plan, provide 100GB of capacity and is priced at $1.99 per month. If users need more storage space, they can upgrade to a 200GB or more expensive 2TB bundle in the future. More interestingly, Google recommends that users “share Google One and Play Pass with their families without additional costs.” This makes the bundle an interesting prospect for families of mobile game players.
Google One and Play Pass
Subscription packages may appeal to a specific user group. Google One was launched as a cloud storage upgrade in 2018. It now provides some additional benefits. At the same time, Play Pass is one of Google’s latest subscription features, allowing users to access games and applications without ads and in-app purchases. It usually costs $4.99 per month.
It is worth noting that the evidence obtained from the disassembly of the application does not confirm that the bundle will be launched soon. However, it does indicate that Google may consider this product in the future.
More and more companies want to bundle transactions or cheaper subscription models with more streamlined features. Recently, Spotify began trialing its cheaper, ad-supported Spotify Plus tier, which provides users with some advanced benefits. YouTube is also trialing the Premium Lite tier, which will provide subscribers with an ad-free experience without having to enjoy the privileges of Premium.
