OnePlus’ latest mid-range is the true sequel to last year’s OnePlus Nord. At the same time, Google’s latest budget/mid-range product is the Pixel 5a. Both phones have the same price range, but which one should you choose to get the original power? Our Google Pixel 5a vs. OnePlus Nord 2 contest will answer this question.
Our own Gary Sims uses his Speed Test G kit to put two phones together. It may not be surprising to know that Nord 2 wins easily in every category. It basically destroyed Pixel 5a. This is mainly because its processor is a dedicated version of MediaTek Dimensity 1200, while the processor of Pixel 5a is a much weaker Snapdragon 765G.

However, the winner of Google Pixel 5a and OnePlus Nord 2 may not affect your purchase decision. Pixel 5a is only available in the United States and Japan, while Nord 2 is not available in the United States. Therefore, your location may be the only determinant of which phone you get.
Also, remember that raw power is not everything. For example, Google’s camera software is better than OnePlus, and the IP rating of Pixel 5a is not available in Nord 2. However, if you only care about processing speed, then Nord 2 is the best choice.
