Google’s VPN service is now available outside the U.S.

Since the service was launched last year, Google One’s VPN has only been available in the United States.Google now has roll out Provide services to a few new locations, including Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Spain, and the United Kingdom. However, some restrictions still exist, including if you travel outside of these countries, you will no longer be able to use the VPN.

Second, this benefit is only applicable to Google One subscribers of the 2TB (or higher) tier plan. If you haven’t signed up yet and want to sign up, the Google One plan with 2TB of stored data will cost you $9.99 per month or a discounted price of $100 per year. It is also important to remember that VPN is only available for Android devices. Google mentioned that it will eventually roll out Windows, Mac and iOS support during the release, but did not provide an exact timeline.

Earlier this year, an independent but commissioned audit concluded that Google One VPN provided “strong” security, and Google resolved most of the problems immediately. In other words, the premium Google One subscription requirements and lack of device support keep the VPN at the same level as before. This is a useful benefit for subscribers, but not a mainstream VPN competitor, even if it is available in more places.

If you are not looking for cloud storage and want to cover all your devices and use VPN anytime, anywhere, there are many excellent third-party VPNs to consider.
