As promised, YouTube Music is finally available for Wear OS 3. If you are a music lover and you are single-minded about the new smartwatch, this is good news from Google.
YouTube Music for Wear OS is now available on the Google Play store, giving you access to all your songs and playlists and playback controls. Most importantly, the app supports offline music storage, so you can listen to music directly from your device. Like similar initiatives by Spotify, this offline support is especially useful for athletes who want to exercise without their mobile phones.
Unfortunately, most older smartwatches are unlucky. The YouTube Music app is only available for devices running Wear OS 3. As of now, it is limited to Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. Fortunately, the new platform should be rolled out to more devices in the coming months.
