JioPhone Next gets Android 11 (Go version) and Qualcomm chip: leak

As early as June, India’s most important telecom operator, Reliance Jio, announced the launch of JioPhone Next in cooperation with Google. Presumably, the device will become the cheapest smartphone in the world. However, at the time of launch, neither Jio nor Google gave us much information about the specifications of the phone. Rahman did not disclose where and how he obtained this information, but he posted some details about JioPhone Next on Twitter, including the phone’s boot animation screen. He claimed that the device appeared to have Qualcomm’s 215 CPU. The 64-bit SoC is designed for mass market devices, which is exactly the goal of JioPhone Next. It has a clock speed of up to 1.3GHz and has four ARM Cortex A53 cores. The chipset currently powers several Nokia entry-level phones such as Nokia 1.4.

Elsewhere, Rahman said that JioPhone Next should be running Android 11 (Go version) Outside the box. The software is aimed at devices with up to 2GB RAM, and promises 20% faster application launches, better notification management, one-time privacy permissions, and other new features than the previous version.

The startup animation indicates that the monitor can obtain a resolution of 1,440 x 720. The camera on JioPhone Next should include a 13MP main camera and a 5MP selfie snapper.

The information also shows that this phone will be pre-installed with new versions of Google Camera Go and Google Duo Go applications.
