Update: August 6, 2021 (1:25 AM EST): After we asked for more details about this white OnePlus 9 Pro, OnePlus has now returned to us. The company has confirmed that this is indeed just a prototype.
“The white OnePlus 9 Pro released on Weibo is just a prototype,” a representative told Android Authority“There are no plans for mass production of this equipment.”
Either way, it still looks like a very beautiful color option, so hope we see it return to OnePlus devices.
Original: August 4, 2021 (7:12 AM EST): OnePlus 9 Pro is currently available in a variety of colors, namely morning fog, pine green and stellar black. One option missing here is a simple white color scheme, but it turns out that the company did consider this color scheme.
OnePlus COO Liu Fengshuo Posted a picture on Weibo, Showing the white OnePlus 9 Pro. It looks pretty slick, although it’s not as vibrant as the cancelled gold OnePlus 7T that the company showed off in 2019. Look at the white device in the image below.
My driver According to the report, the white back also does not attract fingerprints, indicating that it has a matte finish or similar oil repellent. The outlet also claimed that this new model will not be mass-produced, so don’t expect to get the device through official retail channels.
We have asked OnePlus to confirm whether the white OnePlus 9 Pro will appear, and will update the article accordingly if/when they reply to us. Nonetheless, you can be sure that this may not be the only one abandoned OnePlus 9 Pro color scheme. The company has previously pointed out that it will look at “dozens” of color options before deciding on some colors for the final product.
