  • Oppo will host a camera-themed event on August 19.
  • This may be related to the new off-screen selfie technology.
  • It is not yet clear which mobile phones any new technology will be used for.

Smartphone manufacturer Oppo will host a camera-themed mysterious event on August 19 at 8 am UTC or 4 am Eastern Time.

Shared email invitation GSM Arena It only contains the text “Today’s Imaging Future” and close-up shots. Oppo India’s vice president and head of R&D, Tasleem Arif, promised on Twitter that he could “change your camera experience forever,” but did not provide any further details.

The incident may be related to the improved under-screen selfie camera announced earlier this month. Regardless of the brand, due to screen interference and low pixel density in the space above the lens, the photo quality of this type of camera is usually poor. Oppo’s solution involves a mix of hardware and artificial intelligence, the latter will automatically fix problems such as diffraction.

Hey #OPPOHumans We are doing something exciting to change your camera experience forever🙌🏻

Interested to know how to do it❓ I wish I could tell you more, but I am bound by the embargo…

Since the company did not mention specific products at the time, Oppo may show a phone with selfie technology on August 19. However, it has only recently released Find X3 Pro and Reno 6 Pro, so the new camera may have to wait a while or enter one of the company’s other product lines, or even a non-concept version of its Oppo X reel.

Oppo may of course plan to talk about the main camera or other imaging technologies. Smartphone manufacturers are competing with each other in various areas, such as zoom, night shooting, and the number of cameras they offer. Find X3 Pro has a total of five cameras and even includes a dedicated macro option.
