Design and display: nothing to write

For some time, Redmi has been launching some exquisite-looking mobile phones. RedmiBook Pro continues this trend, but it may be a bit too low-key. The design is very low-key, which may make it a good choice for many people, but there is nothing outstanding about this design.
RedmiBook Pro does not flash a huge logo on your face, but the soft design feels more like a lack of personality than a selling point.
The laptop is made of polycarbonate, but it feels very sturdy. The hinge is very balanced, but it is about the same as the practical design of this laptop.

While the rest of the RedmiBook Pro may be acceptable for an affordable laptop, in the first impression, the display is not. The viewing angle is terrible and the colors look very inaccurate. So far, looking at it makes me feel like I am using a laptop more than ten years ago.
The resolution is good, but the monitor is almost unusable due to poor colors and contrast. As a brand that has been using mobile phones to promote better displays, the display of this laptop seems to be lower than the industry standard and Redmi’s own standards, which is particularly disappointing.
Performance, ports and everything else

RedmiBook Pro is equipped with the 11th generation Intel Core i5-11300H. With 8GB DDR4 RAM clocked at 3200 MHz and 512GB NVMe SSD, the performance will not let you down. You can also get an Intel Iris Xe graphics card, which is not ideal, but should be sufficient for basic games.

Coming to the port, you will get a good choice, although there are some key omissions. There are two USB 3.2 gen 1 ports and one USB 2.0 port. The foldable Ethernet jack feels great, and you can also get a complete SD card reader, which is a good addition. HDMI 1.4 and 3.5 mm combo audio jacks are also provided. There is no USB-C port at all, the charging port is your usual old barrel plug.
The trackpad is large, and keyboard typing feels good.
The touchpad is large and supports Windows precision drivers. It feels very solid to use. The keyboard feels good for typing, and the stroke is 1.5 mm. However, the biggest problem I have encountered so far is that there is no backlight on the keyboard. This seems to be another flaw that is hard to ignore.
RedmiBook Pro promises to provide 10 hours of battery life, but we cannot test it yet.

So far, RedmiBook Pro feels that it is not a winner, and it may make more mistakes than hits. In a market segment with many options, simply offering a slightly lower price does not cut it.
However, these are only our first impressions after using RedmiBook Pro for a while. Our full review will be published soon, and in addition to more detailed testing, it will also include our recommendations on whether you should buy. stay tuned.
