  • According to reports, Xiaomi is now the top smartphone brand in Europe.
  • The news was released after several reports in the second quarter of 2021 found that it was the second largest brand in the world.

Xiaomi has gained tremendous momentum in 2021 because it is second only to Apple in global shipments and achieved impressive annual growth. However, the good news does not stop there, because a European market share report shows that Chinese brands are now ranked first in Europe.

Tracking company Strategic Analysis According to the report, Xiaomi ranked first in Europe with 12.7 million units shipped or 25.3% market share in the second quarter of 2021. Samsung ranked second with a shipment of 12 million units or a market share of 24%. It is also interesting that Xiaomi has achieved an annual growth rate of 67%, while Samsung has achieved a year-on-year decrease of 7%.

Apple now ranks third with 9.6 million shipments and 19.2% market share. Compared with the second quarter of 2020, it also achieved 15.7% growth.

At the same time, Oppo (5.6%) and Realme (3.8%) occupy the fourth and fifth positions respectively. Both brands are in the European expansion stage, with Oppo’s annual growth rate of 180% and Realme’s annual growth rate of 1,800%.

realme entered Europe for the first time in 2019, focusing on Love spainBut since then, it has largely expanded to France, Italy, the United Kingdom, Russia, etc. in 2020. So basically what we are seeing is almost zero-based growth. Therefore, once Realme becomes a more mature name, it will be interesting to see what kind of growth it can sustain.
