  • Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 was out of the box on YouTube before its release on August 11.
  • This video shows a pair of olive green Galaxy Buds 2 and confirms some key features.
  • It also shows the earbuds connected to the Galaxy S21 Ultra and Galaxy Wearable apps.

Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event is only a few days away. Before the big launch, we have seen Galaxy Buds 2 retail units everywhere. After real-time images of real wireless earbuds appeared on Twitter yesterday, a YouTuber posted a complete unboxing and first impression video.

The video contains a pair of olive green Galaxy Buds 2. Inside the box is a compact square charging box, Buds 2, USB-A to USB-C charging cable, spare earplugs and warranty documents.

The back of the box confirms the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) features that Buds 2 borrowed from Galaxy Buds Pro and Buds Live. The cover also mentions a battery life of up to 20 hours, and there are rumors that it can be extended to 29 hours if the ANC is turned off.

The outside of the charging box is white, but the inside is painted green, like a flower bud. This should also be the same color scheme for all other Galaxy Buds 2 color schemes. There is a USB-C port on the back of the case, and the video indicates that it also supports wireless charging.

You do not need to remove the Galaxy Buds 2 from the case to turn on the pairing mode.

The bud itself looks small and should have a good ear grip. When they are placed next to the phone, they will immediately pair with YouTuber’s Galaxy S21 Ultra. Once the headset is detected, you will see the battery percentage of the phone case and headset on the phone.

The video also shows that you do not need to remove the Galaxy Buds 2 from the case to turn on the pairing mode. You can long press the two buds together as they are placed in the shell to open them. After the pairing is successful, the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone will download 10MB worth of new software so that you can start customizing your listening preferences through the app. The available settings are the typical settings we saw on the Galaxy Buds before.

The host also briefly discussed the sound and fit quality of Buds 2. His initial impressions were that they sounded good and reproduced the bass very well. He also pointed out that compared to his Jabra Elite 85T ANC headphones, they feel lighter and fit better.
