- Samsung is developing its next cheap Android tablet, the Galaxy Tab A8.
- The rendering shows the bump of the rear camera similar to the 2021 iPad mini.
- The release date and most specifications are still unknown.
The new rendering is designed to show the appearance of the upcoming Galaxy Tab A8 2021. Compared with other Android tablets recently launched by Samsung, it may be more similar to the Apple iPad, good or bad.
This is because its rear camera bump has changed from a square shape on the Galaxy Tab A7 to a round shape, similar to the 2021 iPad mini.Rendering is made by 91 mobile phones Work with popular leak source Steve Hemmerstoffer, better known as @OnLeaks.
The A7 has borrowed many things from the iPad, including similarly placed ports and speaker grilles, which are even shaped like the iPad. Of course there are design differences, such as the placement of the front camera assuming horizontal use instead of vertical use. A common complaint about the iPad is that in landscape mode, it is easy to accidentally block the camera during a video call or Face ID login.
Few details of the A8’s features are leaked, but it is reported that this tablet will use a 10.4-inch display, probably with FHD+ (2,220 x 1,080) resolution or higher. It is said that it also has an 8MP rear camera, USB-C and 3.5mm audio ports, and four built-in speakers with Dolby Atmos. Unlike A7, which currently only supports Wi-Fi, a 4G version can be provided.
Pricing, release date and other details are still missing. However, its cost may be similar to the A7, and the 32GB model was $230 at launch. Samsung may be forced to increase basic storage. 32GB is now generally considered insufficient for any tablet, even with the microSD slot.
