There are more and more rumors about the upcoming wearable devices. Below, you will find a complete list of all trusted leaks and rumors surrounding the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 so far. Be sure to bookmark this article and check it regularly for the latest information.
Name and release date
Samsung changes its product naming scheme from time to time, skipping numbers or adding wrong letters in the titles of its smartphones. However, we do not expect this to happen to its Galaxy Watch series. As the fourth iteration of its Galaxy smartwatch, we expect the device to be called Samsung Galaxy Watch 4.
We also learned about the second variant of this watch, the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. These two models may see very different designs. For more information, see the next section.
As for the release date, Samsung confirmed that it will hold the Galaxy Unpacked event on August 11. It is almost guaranteed that we will see the release of Galaxy Watch 4 at this event. Samsung will almost certainly launch two foldable products on that date: Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 4: Design
You can see the first set of leaked renderings below.
The absence of a rotating bezel-an iconic aspect of the Galaxy Watch series so far-makes us think of these as Active models. However, a second leak a few days later overturned this theory:
As you can see, these leaked media renderings clearly show the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 brand. Well, there may not be an Active variant, at least not at first.
The rendering shows that we can see two sizes:
- Galaxy Watch 4 (40mm) SM-R880
- Galaxy Watch 4 (44mm) SM-R890
In addition to the regular Galaxy Watch 4, we would also like to see a different model called the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. The leaked renderings indicate that this will be the true follow-up to Galaxy Watch 3, with similar design concepts:
It is difficult to tell whether this model has a rotating bezel, which is one of the hallmark features of the Galaxy Watch series. It seems possible, but we need more information to be sure.
We also saw a real image of the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. You can see a set of 91 mobile phones. There is also an image from Samsung’s official video below, which has nothing to do with the watch-but it seems to be a cameo:
With all this information, when Samsung finally launches this watch, there won’t be too many surprises.
Specifications and features

The leaked images in the previous section provide us with some hints about the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4. We can see that there may be 5ATM waterproof, MIL-STD 810G durability and onboard GPS. It can also be equipped with Gorilla Glass DX Plus, which we have seen on the previous Galaxy Watch.
Recently, we saw a set of leaked specifications that detail almost everything you want to know about the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. We hope that the specifications of the Classic and vanilla models are the same, with only minor changes. Check them out below:
An interesting rumor we heard is that the battery life of the Galaxy Watch 4 series can reach 7 days. This will make the watch the longest-lived watch on the market, even surpassing the Apple Watch. However, we are skeptical about this news.
According to rumors, Galaxy Watch 4 may introduce new sensors to monitor body composition. A BIA sensor or bioelectrical impedance analysis will estimate the wearer’s body fat percentage to gain a broader understanding of their overall health.
On June 28, Samsung revealed that the next-generation Galaxy Watch will debut on Samsung and Google’s new wearable operating systems, officially called Wear OS 3. The operating system will combine the essence of Google Wear OS and the essence of Samsung Tizen to create a new platform.
Now, Samsung has not made it clear that Galaxy Watch 4 will get this new operating system. But we can be sure that the reference to the “next-generation Galaxy Watch” obviously refers to the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4.
Samsung will also launch a skin on top of this new operating system called One UI Watch. There will be some cool new features, including automatic application installation, synchronization of settings and functions across phones and watches, and a watch face developer console.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4: price and availability
Jimmy Westenberg / Android Authority
Samsung seems to be keenly aware of the pricing of its 2021 products. This year, it launched the Galaxy S21 series at a base price lower than the S20 series. It can be said that this is necessary, but can this concept also permeate the company’s flagship smartwatch?

Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 3 starts at $399, but the Galaxy Watch 4 will not be so fancy. The error list on the Canadian version of Amazon suggests that the price of the vanilla Galaxy Watch 4 may be much lower, perhaps even $299. This shows that the price of the Classic model may be around $399, which makes sense.
As for availability, Galaxy Watch 4 is expected to start pre-orders on the launch day, and general sales will start in one or two weeks.
This is what we currently know about Samsung’s next flagship smartwatch. Be sure to bookmark this Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 hub as we will update it regularly with new information!
