Samsung Galaxy Watch 4
TL; PhD
- Samsung has promoted its WalkieTalkie application to the Galaxy Watch 4 series.
- The app allows owners of wearable devices to communicate via a push-to-talk system.
A few weeks ago, Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic were officially launched. Both devices run Wear OS 3 and can access a large number of applications in the Google Play store. Now, in addition to this utility, Samsung has also launched an official walkie-talkie app (h/t Sida).
As the name suggests, the app effectively turns the new smartwatch into a push-to-talk walkie-talkie. The app allows users to create channels and have “instant conversations” with others in the contact list. However, these contacts also require Galaxy Watch 4. It is also the official app of Samsung, so you need a Samsung account to use it.

Samsung did not specify the operating range of the application, so it is not known whether the walkie-talkie application is useful for hikers or people seeking alternative communication media. Samsung recommends using the app first, “when the watch is connected to your smartphone”, which indicates that it will run independently once set up. The app also requires users to provide optional location access permissions for “searching for nearby friends via Bluetooth to create your channel.”
Of course, if you don’t like talking to your watch, you can pick up your phone at any time call That kind of contact, but what’s the fun?
If you don’t have a Galaxy Watch 4 or Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, but are interested in buying it, you can use the button above to get it. Be sure to get the walkie-talkie app from the Google Play store below.
If you are not planning to buy a new Samsung smartwatch, but have an Android phone, then this list of walkie-talkie apps is a ticket.
