- According to reports, Samsung’s latest foldable products have much higher pre-orders in South Korea.
- It is said that 800,000 Galaxy Z series devices have been pre-ordered on the market.
- Z Flip 3 obviously accounts for 60% of the units.
Samsung is very popular on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, which offer lower price tags, water resistance and higher durability. Now, compared with previous models, the commercial reception of these phones in the domestic market seems to be much better.
Yonhap News According to the report, during the one-week pre-order period that ended yesterday (August 23), 800,000 Galaxy Z series foldable phones were pre-ordered in South Korea, citing its own sources. The store stated that 600,000 units were pre-ordered through mobile operators and 200,000 units were pre-ordered as unlocked devices.
The news media also claimed that Galaxy Z Flip 3 accounted for 60% of the pre-orders. In other words, about 480,000 Galaxy Z Flip 3 devices were pre-ordered in South Korea, while the Galaxy Z Fold 3 was about 320,000 units. This is not surprising, because the clamshell foldable is much cheaper than the Z Fold 3.
Our verdict: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 review-no Note replacement, but foldable
It’s worth mentioning that, according to reports, last year’s Galaxy Z Fold 2 Pre-order 80,000 pieces in Korea. Therefore, in comparison, the performance of Galaxy Z Fold 3 is definitely a huge improvement.
However, these reported figures represent only one market and a short period of time, so we would love to see a decline in global sales figures. After all, people think that Samsung’s Galaxy S21 had good sales in the first month in the United States, but global sales were poor after six months.
Nonetheless, Samsung’s smart strategy to provide cheaper and more robust foldable products seems to be a step in the right direction.
