When you are serious about carpentry, you will eventually want some power tools. With this operating efficiency, things will soon become pear shaped, full of sawdust. Working outdoors is not always practical (or desirable), and many of us have only small workshops to do our production. But woodworking tools quickly take up space. Centralized extraction is a solution, but all fixed rigid pipes force people to fix the tool position, which is not always a good thing. The mobile tool car is nothing new. Over the years, we have seen many solutions, but the construction of [Peter waldruff] is very smooth (the video is embedded below), contains some very good functions, and has a very compact and key mobile format.
By repurposing old cabinets, [Peter] showed some real upgrades with little waste, and the end result looked great! There is a centralized M-class (we guess) vacuum cleaner with a removable vacuum tube that can be easily removed and connected to smaller hand tools. These are hidden in a part near the flip planer, ready to take action. The automatic start switch of the small vacuum cleaner is connected to smaller tools to increase a little ease of use and reduce the possibility of forgetting to open. We’ve all done it.
For semi fixed large tools, such as miter saws and bench saws, a separate, higher flow movable dust collector can be pushed onto the integrated plenum and connected to the integrated plenum to capture more dust and debris.
A good way is to install the miter saw part on the sliding guide rail. This allows the entire assembly to slide a little sideways, providing a greater available width at the table saw for tearing wider plates. By slightly adjusting the latch, the entire miter can be turned over to provide more table saws, or just a small workbench! Junk!
We need some help to make better use of wood, [Eric Strebel] has some great suggestions for you! If your needs are simpler, smaller, smaller, here’s a finger sized plane for you.
