With Ted Lasso’s second season breaking the record of Apple TV Plus and gaining the status of a must-see TV, it is worth asking: Has Apple TV Plus finally entered the streaming major league?
Since Netflix and Amazon Prime have dominated the game, HBO Max and Disney Plus may be the largest streaming media releases, almost the top ones.
Although it is a large technology company, Apple cannot cause the same sensation without a huge library of titles to learn from. But what are their views on quantity and quality?
Check: 14 Apple TV Plus shows you should watch
Apple TV Plus has relatively few movies and TV series, but it has something that most streaming media don’t: the average batting rate of high-quality shows is staggeringly high. Apple has always launched top-notch programs to rival the prestige output of larger competitors.
So, how did Apple TV Plus change from its dark horse (later in streaming games) to perhaps the most reliable subscription service on the market? Read on for a breakdown of Apple’s slow and quiet rise.

Apple TV Plus
Compared with other streaming services, Apple TV Plus may not have so much content, but its content quality makes up for this. This includes shows like For All Mankind and Ted Lasso, and movies like The Banker, Greyhound and Palmer
The hard move to get into streaming games

When Apple first came up with the idea of dedicated streaming, it seemed unsure how to move forward.
The original program plan appeared as early as 2015, when Apple was already producing music-centric series and movies on Apple Music.
In 2017, Bloomberg Report Apple’s streaming plan includes avoiding “nudity, vulgar language, and violence, which have become the main content of many TV programs on cable TV or streaming services.”
Although it attracted people’s attention at first, Apple did not shy away from the subject of maturity.
As a strange conservative move, this has attracted some people’s attention. At that time, “Game of Thrones” and “Westworld” were doing big business on HBO, while streaming media such as Hulu and Netflix had adult tickets for popular games such as “The Handmaid’s Tale” and “Orange is the New Black” respectively.
Fortunately for everyone, something must have changed. By the time Apple TV Plus was launched in November 2019, its original content (which does include family programming) did not shy away from adult-centric content. The highly anticipated “Morning Show” received a rating of “Mature Audience”, dealing with sexual harassment and sexual assault in the workplace. The description of violence in the original science fiction novels is more vivid, about the warring factions that will almost all of humanity be blind in the future.
With the launch of new Apple shows like M. Night Shyamalan’s Servant, Mythic Quest and The Mosquito Coast, it’s hard to say that Apple doesn’t like mature themes.
Robust business model

As Android AuthorityHis own Adamya Sharma believes that Apple has developed a simple but clever launch strategy for its original products.
You can get all the original content at a reasonable price ($4.99 per month) without fillers. The series is released in three phases, distribute your favorite shows in digestible quantities, and maintain a weekly momentum.
Although as more episodes are released, Apple has switched to opening with two episodes. Then once a week for the rest of the season, and once a week from the first day of the second season.
Quality is better than quantity is the name of the game.
It is understandable to boycott the weekly TV shows. Netflix’s first all-season carnival mode provides viewers with all control. But this comes at a price. In these times, TV is best used as the material for event viewing and water cooler, whether it is text or virtual. Not everyone watched at the same speed, watching about 10 episodes in one fell swoop. “How far are you?” Not like “Have you watched the latest episode?”
Disney Plus, Apple TV Plus, and HBO Max have created scheduled viewing functions for WandaVision, Ted Lasso, and The Flight Attendant, respectively. They were both initiators of the conversation, and the conversation continued. By letting us watch a few episodes first, and then schedule once a week, we get the best of both worlds from Apple.
A small but powerful initial slate

In addition to format or price, the output quality of Apple TV Plus makes it unique. Apple will not fill its library with any rights it owns, because it only has original content. This means that the anchor has only launched a small number of games.
There were some A-level programs, and the audience also appeared. All programs that premiered on November 1, 2019 have been updated.
Apple didn’t have the luxury of relying on a backup catalog to fill in the gaps in its original program.
Among them is the flagship series Morning show, It handles the #MeToo movement very cleverly. It provides the story of a morning show recovering from the loss of a popular co-host, who was exposed as an abuser. “Morning Show” has a top-notch cast and handles difficult themes with nuance and wisdom, which, frankly, surprised me.
Look and For all mankind There is no identical hum, but both carry their weight with ease. See has a somewhat absurd premise, but the series starring Jason Momoa has heart and style. Its second year season is a season I am very happy to watch. At the same time, for all mankind, when the Soviet Union first landed on the moon, NASA had to catch up with history and easily became one of the best series in the past decade.
Apple TV Plus shows at the top

As good as the first batch of Apple TV Plus shows, there are more exciting TV shows to follow.
M. Night Shyamalan’s servant Must be one of the greatest unnamed television masterpieces today. The series tells about a couple who hired a nanny to take care of their child. This is a lifelike replica of their lost child, but the child miraculously resurrected. The next two seasons (so far) were completely unpredictable twists and turns, both immersed in a glorious Gothic atmosphere. Shyamalan added some big scary names behind the camera, such as Nimród Antal and Julia Ducournau.

Other impressive Apple TV Plus shows include Dickinson, An irresistible update Emily Dickinson (Emily Dickinson) a retelling of her teenage years, and a clever crazy comedy like a video game love letter Mythical mission Send with musical comedy Schmigarten.
And of course, Ted Russo Having earned a reputation as a refreshingly optimistic and absolutely hilarious comedy, the season 2 premiere brings Largest audience Any Apple Plus original movie or TV show. This water show tells about the mission of an American football coach. He is responsible for leading a British football-er, football-club. Although he doesn’t know anything about the game or professional knowledge, in addition to infectious enthusiasm and Outside of the upright sportsmanship.
Apple TV Plus Movies: Home of popular indie games?

Like most services, there are not so many movies yet. The huge library of Netflix, HBO Max, Disney Plus and more Apple competitors is self-evident. This is the information that old catalogs with decades (or even hundreds of years) of history can provide you.
Apple has the advantage of completely owning its output, it started from scratch.
Apple is not restricted by content transactions and rights disputes.
However, what it makes up for in quantity is prestige. Frankly speaking, some movies are memorable, but Apple TV Plus movies contain some very compelling items. Instead of competing with Disney Plus’ Marvel Cinematic Universe or HBO Max’s Warner Bros. archives, Apple is investing in small movies with some serious cultural caches.
And movies such as impressive sea war movies Greyhound — Starring Tom Hanks — You’ll find original works like independent darling Sofia Coppola (Sofia Coppola) on the rocks. Or the last chapter of Tom Moore’s animated “Irish Folklore Trilogy”, visually stunning and touching Wolfwalker.
Upcoming Apple TV Plus movies include a great ending song from the Sundance Film Festival, new works by Martin Scorsese and Antoine Fuca, and Macbeth adapted by Joel Cohen of the Coen Brothers.
Excellent documentary

Apple TV Plus movies also have a small but powerful documentary section.
Start with the winners Elephant Queen, Apple stands out with some powerful nature documentaries.Followed by popular holiday fares, such as Boy state and Dads.
With the history of launching new music through iTunes and Apple Music, Apple TV Plus is ready to focus on music files.

I feel that Apple TV Plus has not broken through yet. Individual programs have already achieved results. Sometimes a huge mark. The first season of the Morning Show received eight Emmy nominations, and actor Billy Crudup won a supporting role award. Ted Lasso topped the list with 20 nominations and became a popular product of Apple.
At this stage, Apple TV Plus is still a very niche, almost boutique streaming media, but this is what makes it feel such a strong competitor. Other companies continue to dump huge libraries on the Internet that are managed by lifeless algorithms.
Apple TV Plus and Netflix: Which one should you choose?
The Apple TV Plus interface does not fully meet the standards you expect from a global technology empire. Putting the subscription content next to the pay-per-view VOD title can create some confusing viewing experience. But in terms of content, Apple dominates, albeit at a slow pace.
Maybe in a few years to develop a larger library, it will eventually get the recognition it has already won.
