Vises are useful for holding anything you are doing, but they are often stuck on the workbench. [seamster] experienced the glory of having a more portable solution and shared his heavy vise tripod.
The trick is that in order to be useful, the design must be heavy and strong enough to keep the vise from tipping over. For this building, [seamster] chose a 1 / 4 “thick steel pipe, some solid reinforcement and some 3 / 8” thick steel plates. The legs and arms are then welded from the bar to form a tripod. Then weld a strong plate for the vise on the top of the pipe, and the vise is installed on the top.
This is not a particularly difficult build, but it is a smart idea that allows you to easily drag the vise where you need it. If you don’t have the vise itself, consider this hydraulic structure. At the same time, if you have been developing your own useful workshop hackers, please let us know!
