The Mi Notebook 14 series is the first Xiaomi notebook to be launched in India, and now Xiaomi has launched Mi Notebook Ultra and Mi Notebook Pro. I got the Mi Notebook Ultra, which is the most powerful notebook that Xiaomi has launched in India so far, equipped with the highest specifications.
Although Xiaomi did release the RedmiBook Pro laptop recently, it is a mid-budget Redmi brand. Mi Notebook Ultra promises more, but can it keep people away from the regular laptop brands that dominate this segment? Before the full Mi Notebook Ultra review is about to be released, let’s take a quick look Android AuthorityFirst impression.

Design and display: check the correct box

Mi Notebook Ultra seems to have the basic knowledge. The Mi Notebook Ultra looks quite pleasing to the eye, with an aluminum body and a low-key logo placement. However, the inspiration of the MacBook Pro extends a bit too far.
Mi Notebook Ultra feels like an old version of MacBook Pro, it has both good and bad.
The good thing here is that the laptop is great in terms of usability and feel. The downside is that it is quite boring. However, for productivity-focused laptops, exciting design is far from a priority, and Xiaomi seems to be aware of this.

Coming to the display, the packaging of Mi Notebook Ultra is very eye-catching. The 15.6-inch, 3,200 x 2,000 resolution “TrueLife+” display is very clear and looks very pleasing to the eye. The display also has a 90Hz refresh rate, and has a 100% sRGB coverage rate with accurate colors. So far, it seems to be one of the best monitors you can buy on a laptop at this price.
The display has a matte finish to reduce glare and improve visibility. Although a sleek display will make the laptop feel more upscale, matte seems to be a more practical choice here. It is safe to say that with Mi Notebook Ultra, Xiaomi has maintained its tradition of providing first-class displays at a price. If only RedmiBook Pro
Performance, ports and everything else

Ultra offers two CPU choices-the 11th generation Intel Core i5 and i7 chips. Standard 512GB NVMe SSD, i5 version can choose 8GB or 16GB RAM, and i7 version is only equipped with 16GB RAM. The laptop feels fast to use, and I haven’t experienced any slowdown. The Intel Iris Xe graphics card is also on the motherboard. This is not a gaming laptop, but Iris Xe should be able to let you play some basic games.

Coming to the port, Xiaomi really walked out of the park from here. You have two USB-C ports, one supports charging and the other supports Thunderbolt 4. The latter is not a common product, but it does give you a lot of room for expansion.
There is also a Type-A USB 3.2 gen 1 port and another 2.0 port. A complete HDMI 1.4 port and headphone combo jack are also provided. Surprisingly, Mi Notebook skipped the SD card reader included in the cheaper RedmiBook Pro. Another notable lack is the Ethernet port, but laptops have Wi-Fi 6 to make up for this.
The keyboard and trackpad are large and feel solid, making Mi Notebook Ultra a very comfortable notebook to use.
The keyboard also has backlighting. Xiaomi added a fingerprint scanner to the power button this time, and it feels as fast as some better phones. There is also a mysterious macro key that can be assigned to a custom function, but I haven’t tested that.
Speaking of things I cannot test, Mi Notebook Ultra promises 12 hours of battery life all day. We will gradually understand the accuracy of this statement.

Mi Notebook Ultra impression: verdict
Mi Notebook Super
Xiaomi’s most expensive laptop in the Indian market, Xiaomi Notebook Ultra uses 11th generation Intel Core CPU, up to 16GB DDR4 memory and 512GB NVMe SSD, and has a 15.6-inch display with 3.2K resolution.
Mi Notebook Ultra seems to be a reliable product, hoping to disrupt the market with its aggressive price. At first glance, it may look like any other laptop that likes the MacBook Pro, but the display seems to put it ahead of the competition. Don’t forget that the rest of the hardware is also very reliable on paper.
However, these are only our first impressions after using Mi Notebook Ultra for a while. Our full review will be published soon, and in addition to more detailed tests, it will also include our recommendations on whether you should buy. stay tuned.
