Sony is preparing for the next PlayStation Showcase, which will be broadcast on Twitch and YouTube on September 9, 2021 at 4pm Eastern Time (1pm Pacific Time). Aside from plans involving first-party and third-party studios and a commitment to PS5’s future prospects, little is known about the company’s plans. Every PlayStation owner has his own wish list of Sony events, but here are some of the things we hope to see at the Sony PlayStation event in 2021-be it real or otherwise.
1. The first game screen of God of War 2 / Ragnarok
Perhaps the most likely and highly anticipated thing is the game screen from the next God of War-sometimes called God of War: Ragnarok, although the subtitle is not official, at least not yet. The game was first released in September 2020 and is expected to launch sometime in 2022, so now is the time for people to see what it looks like. In fact, there are rumors that this will happen, and Sony previously promised to provide details at the end of the summer.
Perhaps one thing that is both possible and highly anticipated is the lens from the next God of War.
Since the title is always in the shadows, little is known about its story or gameplay. It will probably expand the battle of the previous game and solve the theme of Ragnarok, which is the Nordic Apocalypse where many gods should be killed (Kratos has a lot of experience in this area). At the end of 2018, the sting of the god of war promised to confront Thor. If we are really lucky, Sony may announce the release date on September 9, but it may hesitate to be specific because its original goal is to release before the end of 2021.
2. A PlayStation Now, which actually competes with Xbox Game Pass
PS Now deserves to be an excellent competitor to Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming. It includes a larger library of titles, some of which date back to PS2. But in practice, subscribers won’t get any PS5 games, let alone the games released on the first day, which mainly makes it a way to view old games without paying the full price.
Almost certainly, Sony is looking to improve PS Now, because Game Pass is a clear advantage for Xbox users. The company also needs to be able to provide new games through the cloud-not for the current market, but for the future market, where streaming Final Fantasy 23 or Uncharted 9 on the phone is no different from playing on the console .

The question at the PlayStation event in 2021 is whether Sony is ready to announce any news. Since the event is scheduled to last 40 minutes, the answer may be no, but we hope we can see PS Now overhaul next year.
3. A new spiderman game
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
One of the best-selling PS5 games to date is Spider-Man: Miles Morales. As both successful and the property of the Marvel brand, the sequel is inevitable, and it was even made fun of in the original game and derivative games. Any follow-up will have the advantage of being optimized for PS5, and the original version looks better on this console and loads faster than on PS4.
It may be too early to show the gameplay now, as Morales will be released with PS5 in November 2020. However, this is not impossible, and Sony is undoubtedly eager to launch more large-scale PS5 games.
4. Bloodborne PS5 upgrade (possibly also PC port)
FromSoftware’s Dark Souls derivative product has a history of more than 6 years, but it still retains a loyal fan base. It combines traditional Gothic horror with elements of HP Lovecraft, and with soul-style mechanics as the core, it manages to become a better game than many Lovecraft games based on the original story.
Bloodborne can withstand PS5 upgrades, because the sequel is either far away or won’t appear at all. Baseline improvements will include 4K resolution and 60fps frame rate. FromSoftware may also include texture and lighting enhancements, as well as small game adjustments, although this may be a high requirement from a company eager to complete the Elden Ring.

It is even less likely to show the PC port that is in demand for a long time this week. Although there are other FromSoftware games on Steam, it doesn’t make much sense for Sony to talk about PC games during the PlayStation event, unless by the way.
5. More Gran Turismo 7
Gran Turismo is the originator of realistic console racing, often showing Sony consoles. Although there may be a PS4 version of GT7, the game will utilize all aspects of PS5, from flash memory and ray tracing to DualSense controller feedback.

Gran Turismo 7 debuted in June 2020 with a target window of 2021-but like many games, it was postponed to 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It makes sense to show a little more now, just like “God of War”, it is Sony’s first-party game, and fans have not eaten meat for a while.
6.More Final Fantasy 16
Everything is fine for the Final Fantasy 7 remake, but even diehard fans of the series may have completed the first part and are looking for something new. “Final Fantasy 16” was released in September 2020, but it is still mysterious beyond the basic plot and characters.
This includes even the most obscure release window. In fact, it is very likely that Sony mentioned Final Fantasy 16 on September 9th just to provide a timetable, although as Square Enix’s next flagship RPG, no one should expect a large number of game screens before 2022. The game may not be available until 2023.

7. Ability to buy PS5
Oliver Cragg / Android Authority
So far, the PS5 has actually sold very well, surpassing the record of all consoles in the United States. The sad truth is that most people cannot buy at the marked price. The scalpers will snap them up as soon as they are available, selling them back to the public for an additional hundreds of dollars. If you are satisfied with your current game library, it doesn’t make sense to rush to buy a PS5.
It’s hard to say how Sony bypassed the scalpers, so we don’t want it to comment during the event. But it’s nice to hear that it is solving production bottlenecks, or that it has found a sales method that beats robots. After all, if there is no playable site, then an excellent roster of PlayStation games is meaningless. Sony is probably doing everything it can, but some guarantees for the 2021 PlayStation event live broadcast may appease some frustrated fans.
