  • Google’s Pixel 6 mobile phone provides a cool real-time translation function.
  • This will enable you to get a real-time translation of the video.
  • Thanks to the TPU machine learning chip of the Pixel 6 series, this function can be used offline.

Google yesterday revealed a series of details of the Pixel 6 series. These phones are the first phones to use Google’s internal Tensor chipset. The processor has a tensor processing unit (TPU) to speed up machine learning, and the chip has multiple use cases.

The latter publication stated that the Pixel 6 series will provide the ability to “generate real-time translated subtitles while you are watching or listening to content in another language.” At the same time, the former media experienced a demonstration showing that the new mobile phone can translate videos from French to English in real time without an Internet connection.

More reports: Why the Tensor processor of Pixel 6 is actually important (why not)

This is not the first time we have seen offline translation capabilities on smartphones, because Google Translate and other services allow you to download language packs to translate text without an internet connection. But offline voice translation is a bigger challenge for smartphones, not to mention the real-time translation function that emphasizes lightning-fast reasoning.

For many reasons, real-time translation may still be a convenient feature. On the one hand, it can open up previously untranslated video content to more users. We also introduce the release of a large number of smartphones here Android Authority, So such technology may be very useful for the next China-only Xiaomi or India-only Realme launch.

These are not the only features supported by the TPU chip, because Google emphasizes features such as offline voice input/dictation, better HDR video processing, and the ability to reduce lens blur. When the phone launches in the coming weeks, we will undoubtedly hear more about the machine learning capabilities (and more) of the Pixel 6 duo.
