- Motorola released the G60S.
- This phone uses the basic design of G60, adding more cameras, faster charging speed and MediaTek chipset.
- However, it did compromise in some key areas.
In April of this year, Motorola launched the Moto G60 with large battery, fast display and the first 108MP camera in the G series. Now, the company announced that Moto G60S uses different hardware in key areas.
Moto G60S shares a 6.8-inch FHD 120Hz LCD with its brother. It also has a similar housing with a punch-hole camera on the front and a headphone jack on the feet.
Delving under its skin, changes began to appear. G60S uses MediaTek Helio G95 SoC instead of G60’s Snapdragon 732G. You will also get 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space.
There are more cameras on the G60S, but Motorola dropped the 108MP used on the G60. On the contrary, the title of G60S is 64MP main camera. There is also an 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP depth sensor and an additional 5MP macro lens support. In the front, the G60’s 32MP selfie shooter gave way to the 16MP sensor.
What Motorola G60S really beats its brother is the charging pile. The company claims that a 50W charging system can charge a mobile phone for 12 hours in 12 minutes. In contrast, G60 supports 20W charging. However, compared to its 6,000mAh sibling, the G60S does have a smaller 5,000mAh battery.
Finally, this phone comes with Android 11 out of the box and is available in dark blue or silver-green colors.
Motorola G60S price and availability
Motorola G60S is giving and receiving. If you want a larger battery and a larger camera sensor, the G60 is your best choice. Prefer to have more cameras and faster charging? G60S is a better choice. At least for now, you may not need to choose between the two.
Motorola launches Moto G60S in Brazil From 2,499 Brazilian Real (~$478). This is much more expensive than India’s G60, but Brazil does have a complex smartphone market, which often faces the problem of excessive prices.
There is no news about the international availability of the G60S, but if it enters other markets, it is expected to be closer to the price tag of the G60.
