Because of the popular market of mouse, keyboard and mobile phone, we like cheap goods. But if you need a device that doesn’t appeal to the public, you have to pay a lot more if you can find it. However, with the cheap and simple use of modern technologies such as 3D printing and Arduino microcontroller, you can now choose to build this special and unique device. For example: [Davy’s] a mouse designed for people with brain or nervous system diseases. This special device is helping a 6-year-old who can’t operate an ordinary mouse.
The device uses Arduino pro and mpu-6050 accelerometers and gyroscopes. The original design used machined aluminum, but 3D printing should also be possible. There is a problem with the design file link in the post, but it is easy to find the correct link.
If you do 3D printing on a similar shell, you may consider using hot setting thread insertion instead of tapping. They work well, are easy to install, and seem stronger than trying to thread plastic. Again, threaded plastic is not as bad as you think.
Of course, there are many ways to achieve this, and each special user will be different. But what a wonderful feeling it is to help someone do what most people take for granted.
