Welcome to the 394th edition of Android Apps Weekly. Here are the headlines from last week:
-
- Last week, three different websites went down. Reddit and Square went offline almost at the same time, and resolutions appeared almost at the same time. Click on each link to learn more. A few days ago, some users’ Spotify malfunctioned. It seems that the outage mainly affected websites and desktop applications, but some mobile application users were also affected. This situation is not common for the three major services.
- Samsung has several good news this week. First, Samsung is removing ads from its native Android apps. This is good news, because whoever is willing to pay more than $1,000 for a smartphone, but still see ads. The update of various applications with advertisements will be carried out later in 2021. In addition, Samsung Pay now allows you to download digital copies of vaccination records. This feature is now available.
- Pokemon Unite has finally landed on Android. It was launched on the Switch in July and will be launched on September 22, 2021. For mobile phone fans, this may be an interesting time. Pokemon Unite is basically a Pokemon-themed MOBA, not part of the main series. In any case, you can pre-register the game Google Play is here If you are interested in.
- PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds: NSW may have an official release date. The game’s application list shows that the expected release date is October 8, 2021. PUBG: New State has been in the testing phase for several months, so we expect the release date to be sooner rather than later. This news has no other content, so please click on the link to learn more about the game.
- Epic Games recently introduced a new Imposter mode for Fortnite. Several members of the Innersloth development and social media team accused Fortnite of plagiarizing many game elements, including map elements and game terminology. Of course, the game mechanics are not protected by copyright, and the developers know this, but they all agree that Epic Games can put more effort into the clone game mode to make it less shocking. DC: Batman Bat Technology Edition
Price: free
DC: Batman Bat Technology Edition is an augmented reality adventure game with Batman as the protagonist. The player plays the game in augmented reality by pointing the phone at something and playing on it. The game has endless running mechanics, you can drive the Batmobile for as long as possible before losing the game. There are also Batarang challenge mode and Grapnel Launcher challenge mode. Other features include face filters for selfies, sticker packs for taking pictures, and even some digital comics for reading. Even if the game duration is not long, it is a neat overall experience.
Moonbeam Podcast Discovery
Price: Free via in-app purchase

Moonbeam is a podcast discovery platform. The app works by playing clips of various podcasts of your favorite genre. You can listen to the clip, and if it sounds interesting, you can just listen to the rest of the episode. The app also allows you to find new podcasts, bookmark them so you can remember their content, and remind creators through the app. It also has segment history, so you won’t forget any segments that may have been skipped. This is a good idea, especially when you are bored with the current podcast playlist.
Mysterious Gunner
Price: Play for free
Mystic Gunner is the latest game from the developers of Buff Studios, Buff Knight, 7Days and Underworld Office. This is a top-down shooting game similar to the old Contra game. It also has things like roguelike elements and randomly generated maps. Players jump in, use special abilities and kill bad guys to pass any given level. This is an interesting premise, with many clever ideas. However, slow movement and occasional sticky control can add some frustration. However, the developers are very talented, so we think this will improve over time.
OFTV
Price: Free/change

OFTV is the official mobile application of Onlyfans. This is a reduced version of the application and does not contain any NSFW content. NSFW content will cause Google to ban it, so this is the best thing they can do. The application can almost meet your expectations. You can follow creators you like, find new creators, and view free content in the app. Unfortunately, we all know why Onlyfans is actually very popular, so there are a lot of 1 star reviews because it doesn’t show NSFW stuff.
KonoSuba: Wonderful days
Price: Play for free
KonoSuba: Fantastic Days is a new gashapon based on comedy-adventure anime. Like most people, it aims to appease fans of the series, perhaps occasional gacha fans. The game features show actors in the new story. Judging from my memory of this show, these characters are basically preparing a lot of Easter eggs for the fans of the show. The battle is very much in line with the expectations of the anime gashapon. It is real-time, has a cooldown, rather than a strict turn-based style. The game has its ups and downs, including some issues that crash immediately after release. Over time, developers should fix it.
