The organizers of Emerald City animation show announced on Thursday that they will re implement the face covering requirements of this year’s Seattle exhibition.
This is a major reversal of ECCC’s previous policy, which triggered a rebound in June, when the organizers announced that they recommended wearing masks, but did not require attendance.
The annual comic conference is scheduled to be held at the Washington State Convention Center from August 18 to 22. Participants will now be required to wear “approved masks” – complete and tight fitting masks that completely cover their noses and mouths in all areas of the exhibition. The organizer also “strongly recommends” spectators to wear certified N95, kn95 or kn94 masks.
ECCC seems to have no plans to check the vaccine card or the recent novel coronavirus test at the gate of the 2022 exhibition.
Reedpop, the organizer and event founder of ECCC, carefully pointed out that its decision was in line with King County’s current health and safety guidelines.
The National Convention tour has been eager to get rid of the covid-19 pandemic, and many programs across the country have also relaxed or completely canceled the guidance to the audience.
It is reported that vidcon held in Anaheim, California this year is an all-round super communicator activity, and a “law enforcer” volunteer at this year’s Pax East Exhibition died of novel coronavirus shortly after the conference.
According to exhibitors, ECCC waited until one day after the strict deadline for the cancellation of COVID-19 to announce the new COVID-19 covid-19 policy. For independent artists, a large part of their annual income comes from touring, which makes them choose between potential exposure to covid COVID-19 and huge economic losses from non refundable fees.
For independent artists who may be economically affected by ECCC’s new crown policy, the Seattle based online boutique dual welve studio recently launched the Convention artist safety and health (cash) fund.
Artists and exhibitors who cancel their participation in ECCC this year can fill out the online form of cash in order to exchange a commission for any non refundable fees they may incur. The initial $10000 of the cash fund was paid by dual welve. Anyone who is interested in participating can buy a specific set of goods at the dual welve online store.
Another Seattle regional exhibition organized by reedpop, penny arcade Expo, is still planned to be held at WSCC on the weekend of labor day. It is reported that by the end of May this year, its organizers intend to implement the same health and safety regulations as the 2021 Western peace organization.
