Former Amazon CEO Jeff Wilk invests in new digital advertising targeting company using first-party data

Former Amazon leader Jeff Wilke is one of the investors in a new digital advertising company Citizen science, A consumer intelligence startup based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This new company, currently unnamed, will use first-party data collected by CivicScience to help marketers target ads that do not use third-party cookies.

The company hopes to control and control personal data from Block third-party cookies. It will be led by media veterinarians Doug Lauretano, He used to work at Media.net.

The company has raised $15 million from the former Amazon Global Consumer CEO and Pittsburgh native Wilk, and legendary entertainment founder Thomas Tur and NPD Group. Since leaving Amazon, Wilk has made many angel investments and helped found a manufacturing company called Re:Build Manufacturing.

CivicScience has two Seattle employees, including former Cheezburger executives Cyrus Crohn.
