  • The Google Pixel 6 smartphone is now on display in the Google Store in New York City.
  • Both the normal model and the Pro model are wrapped, but can be seen from outside the store.
  • Pixel 6 billboards also appeared in some major cities before the release.

Google is continuing to promote the release of its upcoming Pixel 6 phone, not just another version of the typical smartphone. This week, Google’s official store in New York City showcased the red-themed Pixel 6 and gold-themed Pixel 6 Pro showcases.

This means that people walking through the store can still see the new phone without having to enter the store itself. If you are in New York City, you can check the display at the Google Store in the former Chelsea Market building.

Google is also putting up some old-fashioned billboards to show off the Pixel 6. Billboards with his work are now available in New York City, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Google’s early publicity of Pixel 6 reminds us of how Microsoft promoted the release of its first Surface tablet. Billboards and other advertisements appeared in major cities a few weeks before the October 2012 release date.

In addition to the vague “fall 2021” timeline, Google has yet to confirm any release dates for these phones. However, we expect these phones to go on sale sometime in October.
