Making powder driven hammers

Posted on October 21, 2021October 21, 2021 by William

A hammer is a very simple tool. If you need more impact, just a bigger hammer. Or, you can improve performance by chemical means. We’re not talking about steroids. No, instead, you can try a gunpowder hammer, and [I did something] did it.

The product relies on the use of a 6.8mm blank cartridge designed for ramset’s explosive nail clippers. However, instead of buying off the shelf tools, I made one in the traditional hammer format. The device looks like a hammer. The two-piece head has a hinge to place a blank ink cartridge inside. When the hammer swings on a hard surface, the impact will trigger the blank and push the nail forward with incredible force.

(I did one thing) can use this device to pierce steel and drive a nail through the surfboard. This is a very dangerous thing, so if you do experiments in this space, you must be careful. Play the video after the break.
