Biomotum, a wearable robot start-up, won $300000 at the angel Oregon life and Bioscience finals in Portland on Thursday.
Four finalists sponsored by the Oregon entrepreneur network, the Oregon bioscience incubator and other partners participated in the event.
Biomotum in Portland has developed wearable robots to improve the flexibility of people with walking difficulties. Its exoskeleton device can help with rehabilitation.
Other finalists are savorease therapeutic foods, a Portland startup that makes finger food for people who have difficulty swallowing or chewing; Intrinsic targeting, i.e. development of fluorescent imaging agents to visualize nerves during surgery; And stonetable, which is developing a method to improve vaccine stability through silica coating.
Another feature of the project is high peak medical systems, which won the “emergency initiative” award for its technology to eliminate blood pollution during collection.
The angel Oregon life and Bioscience fund consists of 25 angel investors and contributions from the Oregon Growth Fund and the Oregon community foundation.
