- The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra may use a camera layout similar to its predecessor.
- This includes the use of two 10MP dedicated zoom lenses.
- The Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus may see the most significant camera improvements of the three.
Samsung uses Ultra models in its S series to promote certain enthusiast technology, and camera zoom is one of its main concerns. However, the Galaxy S22 Ultra may not see any significant growth in this regard. According to new rumors, the Galaxy S22 Ultra may use camera hardware similar to the Galaxy S21 Ultra.
Details from the Dutch website Galaxy Club It is recommended that Samsung’s next top product use two dedicated zoom lenses. Although this was responded to in previous leaks, the sensor details are slightly different. The website added that the S22 Ultra will use a 10MP sensor located behind the zoom lens and periscope lens instead of the 12MP sensor originally thought. As for the zoom range, one of the cameras will be equipped with a 10x zoom, which will not be higher than its predecessor.
The end of Ultra camera innovation?
Samsung’s Ultra series has steadily improved the zoom capability of the company’s top products. S20 Ultra is equipped with a 48MP telephoto camera, which can achieve 10x hybrid optical zoom. It also uses its 108MP sensor to achieve 100x space zoom. However, this is not remarkable. The S21 Ultra has been significantly improved, introducing two dedicated telephoto lenses. This greatly improves the zoom performance of the S20 Ultra. However, it now appears that the S22 Ultra will not see any significant zoom improvements or gains, at least not in terms of sensor hardware or zoom range.

Of course, this is not a bad thing. Galaxy S21 Ultra is an admirable camera phone. But those who regard camera improvements as the core reason for the upgrade may be lucky. Despite this, Samsung can still consider the zoom capability of its flagship product to be sufficient and shift its development focus to other places. The rumored Exynos 2200 SoC with AMD graphics can improve game performance.
Galaxy Club It also echoes the 50MP main camera and 12MP wide-angle camera of the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus models. This suggests that Samsung’s basic flagship model may see more significant generation camera improvements.
The Galaxy S22 series is expected to be launched in early 2022, so there is enough time to change the details. Samsung has not confirmed any specifications for its next flagship series, so as with all leaks, please be cautious with these details.
