- Spotify is currently testing a new advertising support layer that allows users to better control the service.
- Known as Spotify Plus, it includes some advanced features, but only $0.99 per month.
- There is no news that it will be launched as a formal plan.
Spotify is experimenting with a new advertising support tier that offers selected Premium benefits at a much lower price.
First discovered edge, Spotify Plus charges 0.99 USD per month, which is only a small part of the premium plan fee. With a lower price, users can also get Premium’s core features, such as unlimited skipping of tracks per hour (instead of the 6 tracks in the free tier) and the ability to play any track they want.
It is not clear whether Plus includes more unique benefits of Plus, such as higher bitrate playback or offline song downloads. Nevertheless, in terms of its price, Plus seems to be an excellent way to enjoy Spotify without having to pay ten times more cash each month.
However, there is a big caveat. One of the core reasons that Plus is so cheap is its reliance on advertising. Some users may be willing to pay an additional $9 for uninterrupted service, especially if they rely on Spotify during social gatherings. Spotify did not specify how it will implement advertising.

Even so, Plus seems to be a smart move for Spotify. For those who cannot afford Premium or just want more control over the platform, the gateway plan should help it attract more users.
Currently, according to the statement sent to, Spotify Plus is only available to a “limited number” of users edgeThere is no confirmation that it will be launched as an official part of the Spotify product.
